Audi Q7 All Business Class and Power: Six years in the Making, epitome of Luxury (2017)


Audi took plenty of time to get this one right: They started the development of 2nd generation of Q7 back in 2009. There are valid reasons why it took Audi six years to get the successor to market. The Audi Q7 2017 is a statement of design luxury performance what should be in a SUV.

The Front Grill

The new single frame front grill stands outwards giving it more focus. The LED head lights features a double arrow design, new design signature in the Audi family of cars.

There are numerous design choices are influenced by the Audi race winning history, like the distinct shoulder line which comes from the Audi Rally car legacy.

The Audi Q7 body is made up off 3 types of aluminium and 2 types of steel which is combined to make the vehicle stiffer and rugged as a SUV. A weight saving of 215kg is achieved with better strength to weight ratio, maneuverability and fuel economy. The weight saving on the BIW is 71kg. and is based on the all new MLB 2 (even the Bentley Bentagya shares the same MLB platform from the Volkswagen group) platform.

The Interiors

The interior ambient LED lighting cannot go unnoticed which can be set to your mood. The wing dash gives a sense of open spacious set. The heated steering, double Quattro inlays, window shades, alcantara (Alcantara is a synthetic composite which offers greater stain/abrasion resistance and durability compared to the organic material it emulates, suede) headliners, valcona leather upholstery, front seat massagers with heated or cooled ventilation all this and many other small design and comfort details. It is the A8 level of luxury in this SUV. The large panoramic sunroof is ample to give a clear view to all passengers seated in the car.


Unlike the New A4 the Q7 has the instrument cluster, entertainment unit and head up display design to optimize itself as per the driver comfort with eye refocus. The head up display is at 7 ft from the driver to avoid any driving stress.

The comfort is closely designed, the gear lever is made flat for comfortable resting of the hand while accessing the MMI and other vehicle control.


The Q7 has 3 rows, the third row allowing 7 seating occupants.The tail gate is sensor controlled swipe your leg below the rear for automatic trunk operation.

The exclusive to Q7 is all wheel drive which turns all the rear wheel as well automatically while turning, enabling a tight turn radius at low speed.

The 3.0lt Quattro 6 cylinder supercharged engine deliver a Power 245hp, 0-100kph in 6.3 sec and Max Torque 440Nm via 8speed Automatic Transmission. It is compared in the class of BMW X5 sDrive 35i, Mercedes GLE350 and Volvo XC90 T6 AWD.


The Safety options includes ABS, Child Safety Locks, and 8 Airbags.
